CSR: A 360° approach
As a Trainer
Rupanjana De is a trainer in CSR and has been regularly conducting classes with executive and manager level employees of some Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) across India. She has trained the Supervisory level Executives and Manager-level personnel of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited at two separate residential training programmes and workshops on CSR and Sustainable Development organised by the company at Rajgir and Patna in Bihar in 2016.
Back in November 2015 she has also trained the new recruits of CSR department of Hindustan Copper Ltd. at an HRD training programme organized by the company on CSR and Compliance Management at Kolkata.
As a Speaker
Rupanjana De has been a Speaker on the topic of CSR regularly across various forums in India. She has addressed various seminars as Keynote speaker in different Chapters and Regional Councils of ICSI across India (including the Indore Chapter, Kanpur Chapter, Nashik Chapter, Guwahati Chapter, Jamshedpur Chapter, Ranchi Chapter, Bhubaneshwar Chapter, Dhanbad Chapter, Hooghly Chapter, Patna Chapter, Eastern India Regional Council at Kolkata, Western India Regional Council at Mumbai and Northern India Regional Council at New Delhi), at the Eastern India Regional Council of ICAI at Kolkata, at the Regional Conference of Northern India Regional Council of ICAI at New Delhi, at the Students’ Regional Conference of ICAI at Jamshedpur, at a National Conference as well as numerous seminars and workshops organized by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
She has also been a Speaker at a Full Day Seminar on CSR organized by various private institutions as well as PSUs including the Eastern Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, in Asansol in March 2018. She has been a Speaker at seminars organized by various colleges and Chambers of Commerce.
As a Writer
Rupanjana De is an avid writer and has authored a number of articles on Corporate Social Responsibility in various professional journals. She has also authored two different books on CSR, one of which has had three editions so far.
As part of a CSR Team
She has been an integral part of a CSR implementation team at an Old Age Home in Silchar, Assam where the team set up solar heating and lighting systems to be used by the inmates of the old age home. She has also been a part of other CSR projects involving installation of solar technology systems where she led the team in setting up street lighting in hospitals in Assam and implementing rural electrification in villages of Bengal.
As member of CSR Committee
Because of her keen interest in Social Projects and her past experience of personally handling some major social projects in the rural areas of Assam and Bengal, she has also been nominated as a member (also a Chairperson in some) of the CSR Committees of the Board of different companies in which she is an Independent Director.
Organising Social Events
Ms. De has keen interest in organizing social events. In the early 2000s (during her early days as a professional) as a coordinator of the Youth Wing of a Kolkata based organization she had organized charitable events at Old Age Homes and Orphanages.
Since 2015 she is also associated with an NGO that is working for the underprivileged people, especially the women and the children.
In 2016, Ms. De conducted an art workshop at Princep Ghat in Kolkata to encourage struggling artists and underprivileged children of the city.
In 2016, Ms. De conceived the idea of 'Wheels of Joy', an iconic tram plying on the roads of Kolkata. She invited a famous Spanish artist to complete the project. The tram was adopted by West Bengal Tourism later.

Apart from performing all the above roles with respect to CSR, Rupanjana De also enjoys advising professionals and corporates on CSR law compliance.
